Coffee Beats at La Vanda — Specialty Coffee by the Sea

In-House

A coffee, a terrace over the sea, and one of those moments Ibiza gives you when you’re not looking for anything.

After a beautiful rum tasting with my friends Cristian and Belén, they suggested something simple — a specialty coffee by the sea. No plans, no rush. Just a continuation of the day.
We made our way to Playa Talamanca as the afternoon softened. The light, the air, the calm water — everything felt aligned for one of those quiet Ibiza moments.

The Place

Set on the terrace of La Vanda, right above the sea, sits Coffee Beats — a small coffee truck that you could easily miss if you’re not paying attention.

Run by Ammoccino from Heidelberg and Mattia from Rotterdam, the place carries that effortless energy that defines the island at its best. No pretension. Just a clean setup, good equipment, and a genuine love for coffee.

The Experience

Cristian insisted on the Peruvian coffee. He knows what he’s talking about — always exploring, always searching for the next great cup — so I followed his lead.
The coffee was beautifully balanced. A bright yet soft acidity, medium body, and elegant notes of chocolate, honey, and red fruits. Clean and expressive.
Halfway through, Cristian suggested adding a touch of milk. I hesitated — I usually prefer specialty coffee in its purest form — but I trusted him. The transformation was subtle but powerful. The texture softened, the sweetness opened, and the cup evolved into something completely different. Same origin, new expression.

TLB Take

Coffee Beats is not about complexity. It’s about timing, atmosphere, and intention. It’s one of those places where everything aligns without effort — the sea, the light, the people, the cup in your hand.

And that’s where the magic lives.
